Carol's Word

Carol Esch said...
Happy new year...it is almost midnight....I live in new jersey and started out in the 70's quilting with friend Natalie hart...then moving on to Aruba for a few years and the time to work on it.....then back to nj in 1985 when I became interested in dyeing fabrics and then marbling fabrics resulting in "true colors" business for about seven years doing about 20 shows a year, teaching dyeing and marbling and making some quilts. Discovering that I am not interested in precise piecing and with the advent of quilting arts magazine I became more interested in smaller artistic quilts. I love the process of thinking of creative possibilities and although my pieces are not always successful in my mind I just really enjoy the process of thinking and experimenting. I have loved taking classes, learning new methods and processes. I probably will never enter pieces in a show but I love the group process and working on a challenge........and I look forward to working within this group and getting to know you all. I am mother of four, grandmother of seven, owner of furnishings and accessories business for 27 years .... Married for 47 years.....and have a wonderful scnoodle named beanie.... I hope sometime in the future meeting you all in person......

I woke up in the middle of the night and a word came to me.......we are all connecting on a new level and new project.....so the word I have chosen is

Connection........

Which has many ways to be interpreted.....so it's wide open for everyone.....

Hope you are inspired and we see your progress along the way...10 x 16 vertical or horizontal....no restrictions otherwise.......

Have fun and enjoy......and happy new year shortly!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year...........

The first word to consider for our challenge is

CONNECTION.

I put a long introduction in comment below............sorry about that...............

Hope this word works in many ways and is an inspiration for you all. Can't wait to get inspired and creatively thinking about it........and hope it makes a great "connection" for us all. 10 x 16 size, vertical or horizontal.........no other restrictions..........

Have fun creatively this NEW year and hope it is a healthy and happy one for all of us. Can't wait to see your progress and comments.

It worked

OK. I think I'm in. I will try to upload a photo of me soon. Ugh. But really, thanks for setting up this blog, Madelene. I'm on a mission to finish the projects I started in Katie PM's workshop plus do my Christmas shopping, mailing, card sending, etc. and usual chores and still be pleasant to family this month. then I'll be off to a new project start with Art 1016. Whatever our word is, I do want to mindfully use the 1:1.6 ratio in the design.

Welcome!

Welcome to our new adventure! Our first challenge will be announced by Carol Esch on January 1, 2012, and our completed quilts will be revealed on February 29.
